About This Position

The successful candidate will join Avitide to support Manufacturing’s Quality Control unit.  You will gain experience ensuring the laboratory is running smoothly and providing the data Manufacturing needs to enable the production team to routinely meet product delivery deadlines and deliverables. You will learn and execute basic industry lab analysis techniques and become adept in maintaining good laboratory practice. You will be trained in some Quality Assurance tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Life sciences degree, such as in chemistry or biology (A.S. or B.S.)
  • Some laboratory experience is preferred
  • Thorough and attentive to detail
  • Adept in written communication
  • Competence in use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and a willingness to ask for more information if a task is unclear
  • Accountability and integrity are absolutely required for success in this position

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understanding and adhering to the Avitide Manufacturing Quality Policy
  • Working according to procedures within the Quality Management System
  • Supporting or performing raw material, in process, finished product, and stability testing
  • Prepare solutions, materials, equipment, and samples for testing
  • Assist with buffer preparation in support of manufacturing activities when needed
  • Accurately reporting results of measurements using PDF forms, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents.
  • Once trained, running samples by UV-Vis, Karl Fischer titration, particle size analysis, UPLC, GC/MS, and nitrogen analysis.
  • Checking calibration of balances on a routine basis
  • Cleanroom particulate and microbiological monitoring
