About This Position

Avitide’s affinity resins define the company and hence this role is at the core of our activities. The candidate will provide foundational expertise and technical leadership to direct resin preparation and conjugation. Success in this role directly shapes the success of our purification resins and our partner’s clinical programs. A key role is to  interface with the ISO9001 accredited manufacturing division to transfer newly developed resins into large scale production. Avitide seeks candidates who are highly self-motivated and can work in a collaborative fashion with other interdisciplinary team members and mentor colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience:

Degree (BS/MS/PhD) in sciences or engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting
  • Minimum of BS/MS with 3+ years experience or PhD in organic chemistry, biochemistry or materials science
  • Expertise in the conjugation of biomolecules to chromatographic resins and other solid materials using a variety of different chemistries
  • Expertise in the chemical modification and activation of solid surfaces
  • Expertise with the characterization of surface modified particles including biochemical assays, particle sizing, microscopy and spectroscopic techniques

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Synthesis and characterization of Avitide affinity resins and intermediates
  • Develop and validate analytical methods for characterizing the affinity resins
  • Contributions to the preparation of data and technology transfer packages for Avitide partners
