About This Position

Avitide bioanalytics operate in a tightly integrated manner with affinity resin development and plays an active role in shaping high-performance purification solutions for Avitide’s biopharmaceutical partners.  A successful candidate will join a small team offering analytical support to scientists throughout the company. A large emphasis will be on running and developing ELISAs and other microplate based assays against strict deadlines, but this position will also be exposed to multiple opportunities for cross training in purification process development.  Avitide seeks candidates who are highly self-motivated and can work in a collaborative fashion with other interdisciplinary team members in a fast-paced company that seeks to transform the downstream bioprocessing industry.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS/MS Degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, or biochemical/chemical engineering
  • 2-3 years of experience performing experiments in a laboratory
  • Adept with standard software packages (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Timely and very strong communication skills

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of Avitide scientists and engineers to perform experiments in a timely manner
  • Data analysis of experimental results and communication or results to other scientists.
  • Documentation of laboratory experiments and maintaining accurate records in our computerized proprietary lab information system
  • Reagent and buffer preparation, laboratory housekeeping

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in QC or GLP environment
  • Experience with performing and/or developing ELISAs or similar assays
  • Experience in routine biochemical procedures (e.g. SDS/PAGE, microplate assays, cloning, protein purification)
  • Desire to work with laboratory instrumentation, robots and automation.
  • Aptitude for processing large sample numbers and data sets
  • Attention to details, excellent organization and strong multi-tasking skills
  • Drive to solve problems and ability to work independently
